Talha is a Barrister-at-law and a Senior Associate in the Litigation/ Dispute Resolution team. He has been a part of Mohsin Tayebaly & Co. since October 2018. He practices in a variety of civil and criminal law fields, as well as land and property matters. Talha has particular expertise in Banking litigation, laws governing the petroleum industry and financial criminal laws of Pakistan. Talha is a part of the team that is handling the cases pertaining to the Petroleum Shortage Crisis in the Pakistan on behalf of the Oil Marketing Companies. He is also part of team handling the Burshane LPG Pakistan case whereby the State has alleged biggest organized financial crime in Pakistan’s history. Further, he is also appearing before the Special Court in the matter pertaining to the inquiry of Hascol Petroleum’s default of PKR 54 Billion.
Talha is also involved in the Banking recovery cases filed by Sindh Bank against the Omni Group with the recovery amount being over PKR 2 Billion while also being involved in the recovery amount of over PKR 9 Billion against ASG Metals. Talha also regularly appears before the Special Court (Offences in Banks) for matters relating to insider trading and price manipulation amongst other financial crimes.
Whilst he regularly assists the Senior Partner in matters before the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the High Court, he has also been entrusted with independently handling and arguing cases before the High Court of Sindh. Talha has a range of experience in drafting pleadings, opining in various matters and appearing before various courts across Pakistan.
