SHC Orders Rectification Of Register Of Public Listed Company

We are pleased to share that our team successfully obtained an order from the High Court of Sindh in a petition for rectification of the register of members of a public listed company under the Companies Act, 2017.
The matter concerned the transfer of 600 physical shares, arising from a share transfer transaction dating back to 2006, where the transferor could not be traced despite best efforts. The transfer of shares was declined by the Company that insisted on the presence and verification of the transferor.
After considering the record, including notices and newspaper publications issued to trace the transferor, the Court allowed the petition and directed the share registrar to register the transfer of the shares in favour of the petitioner.
This order provides important relief in cases where legitimate share transfers remain pending for years due to the unavailability of the transferor.
The firm’s team in this matter was led by Abdul Ahad Nadeem, Associate Partner, and included Ammar Suria, Associate, and Zubair Hashmi, Associate.
